Former Victoria’s Secret Angel, Karolina Kurková was constantly made fun of for her height while she was growing up. Obviously, she was going to be the one who’d have the last laugh because after a friend sent her photo to an agency in Prague, it immediately landed her a spot in a runway appearance. At that time, Karolina Kurková was only 15 years old. She was already a rising star right from the very beginning.
She went on to appear in several commercials and print titles before signing a modeling contract with Miuccia Prada. All that buzz fell upon acclaimed Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s ears, who immediately said that Karolins Kurková was to be the world’s next supermodel.
Anna Wintour wasn’t wrong.
In year 2000, the 16-year-old Czech model was chosen to be part of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show webcast. In 2002, she was personally handpicked to wear the Victoria’s Secret “Fantasy Bra”. Three years later, Victoria’s Secret signed her on as one of their “Angels”. As an “Angel”, she even received a star on the Hollywood “Walk of Fame”.
But there’s only one true star in Karolina’s life and like a comet, it arrived on a fine October day. In 2009, Karolina Kurková became mommy to her first child, Tobin Jack Drury.

“I wasn’t prepared for the overwhelming feelings of being pregnant. I mean, I always wanted to have kids and I love children. But being pregnant and the whole experience of having a baby inside of you that’s growing, I can’t explain it. I started feeling kicks one day and it’s just the most amazing thing.”
“To be honest, I’m having more fun now ever since I became a mom. It turned my life around and now, I feel like I’ve a higher purpose in life. Motherhood is challenging and tough, but it’s exciting.”
“I’m really enjoying being a mother and Tobin is my priority right now. With him, all time spent are special bonding times and I’m so lucky that I have the chance to do that. I took a few months off work to really be with him.”
“Of course I’ll go back to work. I know I’ll be busier than ever but I’m looking forward to bringing him on the set and travelling with him. He’s going to love it. He already loves the camera and he loves having his pictures taken. He’s like his mommy!”
It can’t be easy juggling between a thriving modeling career and being a doting mother to little Tobin. But it seems like Karolina Kurková has got it all covered since day one. And honestly, we didn’t expect any less from her.
