The trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters has arrived, featuring an all-female cast. This long anticipated reboot stars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, with Saturday Night Live comics Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. This line-up has caused quite a controversy amongst some fans due to its all female cast.
Fans can also expect cameo appearances from Aussie heartthrob Chris Hemsworth (in geeky glasses!) as their receptionist, and the original actors Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd.
Fans are however quite skeptical about the all-female casts, but Feig has defended his choice quite fiercely.
“I seem to have a very feminine take on the world,” Feig said in a recent interview with The Mary Sue. “It is just who I am. I get sent scripts all the time, and when it’s a typical male character who has things together but is faced with a problem, I zone out. I just get completely uninterested.”
Despite mixed reactions on social media, the trailer looks fun and packed with humour so we’re looking forward to this!
