Haven’t planned anything for Valentine’s Day with your SO? A visit to Hong Kong for V-Day this year would be very fitting!
You’ve probably heard of or seen photos on Instagram of a similar romantic set-up at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, and the creative agency that’s in charge of it – PANCOM – is now going on an international tour.
Various places in Hong Kong will be transformed into a sea of glowing roses as part of the Light Rose Garden initiative, and 25 LED-equipped waterproof artificial roses will be planted per square meter, totalling up to 25,000 roses.
During nighttime, the view will be mesmerising as the light sources would simulate the bright twinkling stars in the sky, and during the day, the pale roses radiate a breathtaking ambience of white romance and serenity.
From 14 to 16 February, the installation will occur at the Central and Western District Promenade, giving visitors a spectacular panoramic view against the backdrop of the Victoria Harbour, and from 20 to 22 February, the roses will light up Tamar Park, just in time for the Lantern Festival which is also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day.
