Do you find yourself going through blotting sheets like crazy during the day and find your face feeling super greasy? Well, if you do, you might be suffering from oily skin and don’t worry, there are some things you can do about it. A lot of the times, oily skin is something that’s genetics but of course things like your daily activities, environments and hormones can totally affect how much oil secrete from the skin.
Here are some things you can do to improve the state of your skin:
Shop for the right type of cleanser – Despite what people say, you shouldn’t buy most of the cleansers that are made for oily skin because they usually strip off ALL the oil on your face, which is something you don’t want. Go for cleansers that are gentle on the skin and without any alcohol in the formula.
Drink a lot of water – If you don’t already know, dehydrating can make glands produce more oil than it needs to. So, drink up that bottle of water and then some! Also, maybe treat your face to a nice mask every now and then, and of course, don’t forget your moisturiser.
Don’t wait too long – Sometimes skincare products aren’t always right so if find yourself struggling with mild acne, then maybe pay a visit to the dermatologist instead of waiting until the problem gets harder to treat.
Careful with your makeup products – Don’t be careless and just use everything and anything on your face. Choose your makeup products wisely and stay away from makeup products that will clog your pores. Remember, let your skin breathe!
Wash yourself properly – A lot of the times, the reason people have chronic oily skin is because they don’t wash up properly. Always choose a gentle cleanser to normalise the levels of oil in your skin and keep away from using toners everyday. Instead, just do this twice a week.
