The doctor who sparked controversy by capturing a selfie while attending to a woman in labour has been identified. The patient’s private parts are clearly seen in the photo and the doctor even flashed a peace sign.
Johor Health and Environment committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat has warned medical personnel not to misuse technology during work and stressed that the department does not condone such actions, especially when it involves the dignity and privacy of patients.
The doctor, believed to be in her 20s, has been serving as a medical officer in the hospital near Taman Mount Austin in Johor for the past three years.
Investigations are underway and action will be taken by the authorities.
