To make way for the KL City Grand Prix 3.2km circuit, five major roads in the Kuala Lumpur city centre will be closed this weekend from 6am to 6pm on August 7 to 9 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The affected roads are Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee.
Only vehicles heading to the properties near parts of Jalan Ampang, Jalan P. Ramlee and Jalan Sultan Ismail would be allowed and traffic information will be distributed to all property owners nearby the area.
Various message signboards around the city will also display traffic information for the public, so we suggest taking note or avoid entering the city centre altogether to stay away from traffic congestions.
Buses would be able to stop at bus stops along redirected routes, and the pedestrians wouldn’t be affected very much. On Aug 7 and 9, pedestrian crossing times are 8am, 8.40am, 2pm, 2.40pm, 2am and 2.40am while on Aug 8, the allocated times would be at 9am, 9.40am, 3pm, 3.40pm, 3am and 3.40am.
The access to the Bukit Bintang-KLCC elevated walkway as well as the Bukit Nanas and Raja Chulan monorail stations would not be restricted.
