Oh hello, what do you know? It’s fall season! But for us, well, by nature of living in a full-on tropical country, “Fall fashion” is not something we can immediately relate to. Thick sweaters and outerwear is hardly something we can pull off here without looking just a little out of place. But there are ways to stay on track with the “Fall fashion” trend with a few tips and tricks.
1. Layering lace
It sure does look like the fall season is not ready to give the layering trend up just yet. Now, just in case you think it’s getting boring, try layering lace with unusual or colourful patterns. If you have a long, lace top or dress lying around helplessly being boring, jazz it up with a striped or polka dotted instead of a flat-coloured underlayer and see the world of a difference it can make! If you’re good at it, give it a little colour-block.
2. Set it ablaze
First, we had the “boyfriend jeans”, then the “boyfriend shirt”, and now, the “boyfriend blazer”. It went all crazy last year and this year, the blazer trend has reached a new level of sophistication with numerous cuts and styles made to fit women. But you can always edge it up further in tune with the fall season. Try pairing your blazer with a long skirt, a maxi dress or leather leggings (instead of jeans), and give it a different spin.
3. Leather up
One of fall season’s best trends is leather, leather, and nothing but leather. We know we can’t don heavy leather outerwear where we are but we can, however, improvise. Get your hands on a pair of stretch leather leggings (instead of leather pants) or a leather dress. Leather leggings are generally light, breathable, and it can edge out your current wardrobe without making you look “a bit much” whereas a sophisticated leather dress can be a fun alternative to your LBD.
Of course, don’t forget to complete your outfit with a few accessories and you’re good to go. Have fun and good luck!
