Sean Ryan may have failed art in GCSE, but he’s definitely found his niche now: creating incredibly strange portraits of famous models. His Instagram @badlydrawnmodels has recently been attracting attention due to his quirky interpretations of beautiful people. The oddly-proportioned portraits are absolutely addicting to scroll through once you get started.
He started out with different accounts such as Badly Drawn Rappers, Badly Drawn Authors, and Badly Drawn Footballers, and found that his lovable yet horribly drawn illustrations of supermodels were the most popular. The page currently has more than 25,000 followers. He’s even been followed and got his photos liked by some of the models he’s drawn, such as Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn.
Sean mentioned that with Instagram, people are able to know what happens in the models’ daily lives. Being one who likes to stay up to date on the stylish lives of models on Instagram, his “talent” seems to go hand in hand. In case you’re wondering if he has hopes about improving his artistic prowess, Sean states, “I’d like to remain thoroughly terrible at drawing forever.”
