Today, Yoshinoya and Hanamaru Udon unveiled the brands’ first Malaysian restaurant in Mid Valley Megamall. In true Malaysian fashion, the grand event was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a lion dance before the guests of honour and members of the media were treated to a sampling of the menu.
Located on the third floor of Mid Valley Megamall, the self-service restaurant boasts 300 sqm, with Yoshinoya on one side, Hanamaru Udon on the other, and Azuki Cafe in the middle, offering a wide selection of Japanese-inspired drinks.
In Japan, Yoshinoya is popular for its signature Gyudon, which is a beef rice bowl. Now, Malaysians will also get to enjoy the sheer satisfaction of the Gyudon, with perfectly seasoned Australian beef and sweet large onions, served on a bed of fluffy Japanese rice.
For those who enjoy fresh handmade udon, be glad to know that Hanamaru Udon only keeps each serving of cooked noodles for no longer than 30 minutes. A much-loved option would be the Ontama Bukkake Udon, which is udon served in a special soy sauce, topped with a half-boiled egg.
We got to try out Hanamaru Udon’s Udon Salad and Beef Udon, as well as Yoshinoya’s Beef Curry Rice today. To our surprise, the serving size for all the three items we ordered were pretty huge and for something so affordably priced, the food was delicious.
Yoshinoya Hanamaru Malaysia Sdn Bhd will be expanding its chain of restaurants throughout Malaysia, giving Malaysians nationwide the opportunity to savour the goodness of these two authentic Japanese offerings.
