Besides being a natural sweetener, honey has a myriad of benefits that most people are unaware of. From relieving sore throats to giving athletes a natural energy boost, honey can be good for you in more ways than one. It has also been mentioned in the Bible and found in ancient Indian, Greek, Egyptian and Arabic literature.

Below are some of the ways that honey can help you live your life in a healthier manner and be bee-utiful:

Sleeping troubles – If you have insomnia, a few teaspoons of honey before bed at night will help you get a good night’s rest.

Allergies be gone – If you are allergic to pollen, you will know how irritating it can get but honey has shown to ease allergy systems.

Increase stamina – Looking for a natural way to boost your energy for a day’s workout? Why not have some honey. Even athletes live by this.

Helps prevent cancer and heart disease – Because honey contains antioxidants in the flavonoids, which has been shown to help prevent cancer and heart disease.

Heal naturally – Honey has been long-known to heal cuts and burns. The combination of how honey hardens and anti-bacterial properties in it aids in keeping a wound clean.

Probiotic benefits – Honey contains six species of lactobacilli and four species of bifidobacteria, both of which are the “better” or “good” forms of bacteria. This can help your digestive system in more ways than you can imagine.

Moisturizes – If you’re the outdoorsy type, having a bottle of honey is good way to moisturize your skin the natural way.

Regulates blood sugar – Honey breaks down slowly and is also gradually introduced into your bloodstream, unlike refined, white sugar. This avoids blood sugar spikes that is usually affiliated with most sugars. With honey, you can ensure that you blood sugar levels are always at its best.
