Not a lot of women can pull off bright pink hair but in the most recently issue of InStyle magazine, Katy Perry totally rocks it. For real! Not photoshopped!
We suppose it suits her since it resonates with her quirky and bold personality. As a matter of fact, she carries it off so well that it looks so natural on her!
At the same time, pink hair requires a lot of styling and maintenance. For example, if you want to go for a whole head of cotton candy pink, then you better have beautiful waves or curls to soften your look. Because it can appear to look harsh otherwise! Also, be sure that your hair frames your face proper. You could take note of how these celebrities have done it previously and how right they’ve got it:
1. Hayley Williams
2. Gwen Stefani
If you’re afraid of going into the whole pink `do too hardcore then start with (or stick with) streaks or highlights. We know, we know, some women are afraid of coming off looking too “punk” or juvenile. So we say, start small with little colouring. It’s a lot easier to maintain and eventually will cost you a lot less to add a little colour to otherwise boring hair. These celebrities have tried and tested that theory:
1. Avril Lavigne
2. Rachel McAdams
3. Joss Stone
How about that? Easily avoid looking like a buffoon. One thing to note though – if you’re Asian, you would most likely have to bleach your hair right through before dyeing it pink. So do it at your own risk!
