Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, recently launched Hinamatsuri, also known as the Japanese Doll Festival, at Tokyo Street, level 6.
Traditionally celebrated to bless good fortune and health to Japanese girls, Hinamatsuri is widely observed in Japanese households. Bringing in the festival for the very first time in Malaysia, Tokyo Street will feature an exhibition of Japanese dolls, as well as performances and workshops for the shoppers.
In conjunction with the festivity, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is also bringing in for the first time in Malaysia, 10-time national Kendama champion Yusuke Ito, who will be performing the classic Japanese cup-and-ball game with extraordinary, heart-stopping juggling feats. The performance will be at Tokyo Street level 6, on 22 March 2015, at 4pm and 6pm; and is open to all shoppers.
The Hinamatsuri Dolls exhibition will be on display from 9 to 22 March 2015. Shoppers will also receive a limited edition Japanese wooden Kokeshi doll, with a spend of RM300 at Tokyo Street or RM1,000 mall wide. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is also running an Instagram contest where shoppers can stand a chance to win a RM100 shopping voucher, when they post a picture of the Kokeshi doll with #OhMyKawaii on Instagram.
