We all lead busy lives that leave us feeling too tired at the end of the day and sometimes after a long day at work, the last thing we want to do is work some more at the gym. Yes, working out and maintaining a healthy diet will most definitely help keep them waistlines perfect but sometimes to keep the weight off, even the smallest things can help. If you’re not really motivated to working out and want to shed some pounds, here are some of the things you should do:
Drink coffee – Believe it or not, caffeine can actually aid in boosting calorie burn for up to three hours. If you’re not a coffee drinker then opt for green tea, which can also help.
Drink water – Not just all day long but before you have a meal. Feeling full from drinking water can help you from over eating.
Snack differently – We all love to snack so if you really can’t kick that snacking habit, why not switch it up. Instead of munching on a bag of Lays, why not have some oranges instead? Plus, fruits are way better for you!
Portion it properly – A lot of keeping weight off has less to do with what you eat but more of the portion that you eat. So, try and eat just the right amount of food instead of scoffing down massive meals.
Motivate yourself to move – If you’re not going to be working away at the gym and burning off those calories by doing a hardcore session of cardio, try to move more during the day. Instead of going on the escalator, why not walk up the stairs?
Change your chair – Roll out your old office chair and place it with a funky-coloured stability ball. By sitting on these babies instead of the regular chair, you can burn up to 260 calories. That’s equivalent to 15 minutes on the treadmill!
Sleep well – Part of weight gain can come from not having a regular sleep schedule, which consists of enough rest time. Not getting the right amount of sleep can cause you to binge, which essentially leads to putting on the pounds. So, no matter how busy you are, make sure you get some rest.
