Thanks to the Hong Kong Tourism Board, I got the opportunity to visit Hong Kong for the very first time and experience the culture as well as the preparations made to celebrate Chinese New Year. Throughout the duration of the visit, the members of the media, including myself, stayed at the InterContinental Grand Stanford hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
Located on the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, the award-winning, five-star hotel boasts 570 luxurious guest rooms and suites. Besides the breathtaking view of Harbour and the city’s skyline, the hotel is recognized with countless hospitality and media awards for its impeccable hospitality, accommodation and services, as well as its world class restaurant and bars.
All of us were given a Premier Harbour View Room and that means that we were able to wake up to a magnificent view every day. The 350 sq ft guest room featured a contemporary design and offered everything I needed for a delightful stay. Besides the 37-inch LCD television and high-speed WiFi connection, there was ample space in the room itself and a proper working space.
Needless to say, the bed was beyond comfortable. What I loved about it most is the personalized Pillow Menu which enabled me to select the pillow firmness I am most at home with for ultimate neck support and an excellent sleep. If you are unsure, you can also opt for a few different options at one time to test them out for yourself.
With the 24-hour in-room dining service and lavish marble bathroom, I also enjoyed the amenities provided in the hotel room itself. The mini bar was well stocked with tons of snacks, yoghurts and drinks, in case I needed something to munch on. During my stay, it was the coldest winter period in Hong Kong and I was really glad that the air conditioning in the guest room had a functional heater built in.
Every morning, we had a buffet breakfast at Café on M, which offers a wide variety of culinary delights influenced by cuisines worldwide. I appreciated how the assortment of food also catered to the palate of tourists who aren’t comfortable with the Chinese or Hong Kong cuisine. Besides egg noodles, dim sum and rice congee, there were also superb Indian food and all-time breakfast favourites like salads, cereals, sausages and scrambled eggs.
Besides Café on M, InterContinental Grand Stanford also offers a few other restaurants and bars like Mistral and Tiffany’s New York Bar for your satisfaction. Other facilities include the Fitness Centre, Sun Court Pool and a spa facility offering plenty of relaxing treatments for you to unwind.
I am very satisfied with the service the hotel has provided me and the staff were all helpful. Anyone who is visiting Hong Kong should definitely check out InterContinental Grand Stanford for its great location and accessibility, hospitality and elaborate service.
Strategically located along the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong is within easy reach of all major transportation systems including the Star Ferry and Mass Transit Railway (MTR) network.
