A barber shop in Atlanta has been giving misbehaving kids a lesson by making them look like bald men.
Called the “Benjamin Button Special” or “old man” haircut, the misbehaving kid gets a crown that resembles a bald man, with hair only sprouting from the sides and the back towards the neck.
“I hope that most people won’t have to do this unless it’s an extreme circumstance and nothing else works,” Russell Fredrick, the barber said.
Many disciplinary methods are deemed ineffective nowadays and apparently, public shaming as a form of punishment does the job.
“So you wanna act grown…well now you can look grown too,” Russell Fredrick posted on the Facebook page for his A-1 Kutz barbershop.
Willie Jefferson, who shaved his 11-year-old son’s head last fall, mentioned that his son has been well-behaved since the haircut.
He says, “Shaming isn’t bad for children if it teaches respect.”
“It taught me respect, it taught my parents respect, it taught my grandparents and great grandparents respect, and that’s what I’m going to stick with.”
Mothers, do you think that this punishment is a little too severe?
