Martell recently marked its Tricentenaire at Elegantology Gallery & Restaurant with the presence of Jacques Menier, the Heritage Director of Martell in the first of a series of celebrations in Malaysia that will be finished off with a prestigious gala dinner in March.

Martell celebrated its 300th anniversary with a birthday cake ceremony, complete with a birthday song and heartfelt congratulations from the guests. The traditional birthday cake came with a twist: the 300 candles on the cake were only lit and not blown out.

Founded in 1715 at the height of French Art de Vivre, the three pillars of gastronomy, tasting and craftsmanship remain fundamental to the Martell house. For 300 years, the House of Martell has been committed to top-level quality and craftsmanship. Jean Martell, the founder, was a man with an appetite for new cultures and of refined taste, which drove him to write the history of French craftsmanship.

In conjunction with its 300th anniversary global celebration, Martell also launched a unique new blend called the Martell Premier Voyage, which contains 18 exceptional eaux-de-vie. It also features world-renowned French artist Bernar Venet’s exclusive design of a stunning sculpture which holds the rare cognac.

The House of Martell has also created other limited editions to celebrate the occasion, namely Martell XO Exclusive Tricentenaire Edition, Martell Cordon Bleu 1912, and Assemblage exclusive de 3 Millesimes. Each limited edition sits within an exquisite package, with a blend aged in barrels made from the oak of 300 year old trees.

Globally, the House of Martell will be replicating Louis XIV’s desire to gather the nation’s most celebrated artists and culturally influencing figures at the court of Versailles with a project to recognize their modern equivalents; celebrating the 300 ‘ones to watch’, whose combined cultural contribution epitomes French Art de Vivre in the 21st century.

Guests were entertained by a live band performance throughout the evening, and guests whose birthday fell on the 17th of any month received a special gift of Martell VSOP Nuit Edition.
