Just over the weekend on a late Saturday morning, we were at the innisfree Festa 2015, a continuation of the Korean all-natural beauty brand launch in Malaysia.
innisfree’s first Malaysian store was launched in December in the shopping hub of Sunway Pyramid. innisfree, which literally means pure island aims to introduce the rich and unspoiled nature of Jeju Island – all their products are made from ingredients found on the pristine island.
At the event which was designed for guests, members of the media and 110 lucky winners to have a hands on experience of the naturalist K-beauty brand, we managed to catch the brand’s Global Brand Ambassador, Lee Min Ho at a short and sweet press conference session.
Needless to say, when the Korean celebrity turned up with a massive bottle of the best-selling innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, the crowds went wild. During the press conference, Lee also answered a few questions, mediated by emcee Julie Woon. He shared his three favourite innisfree products, the Green Tea Seed Serum, Forest for Men All-in-One Essence and Super Volcanic Clay Mask. When asked about Jeju Island, Lee shared with the audience that he frequents the island to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.
We asked the Korean heartthrob about the rising emphasis of men’s skincare and this is what he had to say:
“I think times have changed. Men need to take care of their skin as personal care is very important. Not just women have to take care of their skin, but men as well.”
When asked about his favourite physical attribute, Lee pauses for a short while before answering, “My height.” The singer and actor stands at 1.87m by the way!
To officiate the launch of innisfree into Malaysia and celebrate innisfree Festa 2015, Lee Min Ho alongside Ms. Koo Ae-Ran and Ms. Margaret Chin (General Manager of Amorepacific Malaysia) watered a green tea plant, symbolic of the brand’s dedication to natural beauty and sustainable beauty practices in Malaysia and the rest of the world.
