We’re all probably guilty of using our girlfriends’ lippies at one point in our lives.
Well, maybe it’s time to break that habit once and for all.
A new study has shown that the human papilloma virus (HPV) is associated with the sharing of lippies, as well as toothbrushes and cigarettes.
HPV is a very common virus and it is contagious. It can cause minor problems such as warts and verrucae, as well as more major conditions like abnormal tissue growths, which can lead to cervical cancer.
There are more than 100 types of HPV and transmission occurs mostly during sex, with over three quarters of sexually active women contracting the virus.
So, besides practising safe sex, you probably should practice safe sharing too. Also, be selfish with your lippies, for a good reason, of course.
