It’s #PinkOctober! Breast cancer affects many women around the world and we’re pretty sure most of you have had some people dear to you battle from the disease. This cause means a lot to the whole Lipstiq team, and we wanted to show our support for breast cancer awareness this month by sporting pink ribbons on our nails! This nail art DIY is fun, quick and easy to do. The only tool you need is a dotting tool or a toothpick! If you’re interested, scroll down for the tutorial.
You’ll need: A base coat, fast drying top coat, white nail polish, pink nail polish, dotting tool or toothpick
Step 1: Protect your natural nails by applying a base coat.
Step 2: Paint the nails of your thumb, index finger and ring finger white. We applied two coats to ensure that the colour is opaque. Apply pink nail polish on the middle finger and the pinky.
Step 3: Using the dotting tool, draw on a pink ribbon on the nail of your ring finger. It doesn’t have to be perfect. To make things a little easier, we made three dots in a triangular shape before connecting the lines.
Step 4: For the thumb and index finger, we used the pink nail polish to create a cross pattern on the nails. With a steady hand, start by dragging the brush across the nail in a diagonal angle. Repeat in an opposite angle to complete your cross.
Step 5: For the middle finger and pinky, we used the white nail polish and dotting tool to draw a heart shape. Take your time with this.
Step 6: Repeat on the other hand. Then, wait for your nail art to dry for at least 10 minutes before applying a top coat to seal everything in. You’re done! 😉
