Today’s the National Mourning Day for the Malaysian flight MH17 victims and the special Malaysian Airlines plane bearing the remains of 20 Malaysian victims landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at approximately 9.55am. All draped with the Jalur Gemilang flag, the caskets and urns were brought down from the aircraft by Malaysian Armed Forces personnel.
Among those who were awaiting the remains at the Bunga Raya Complex at KLIA were the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Cabinet ministers and their deputies, ambassadors, senior enforcement personnel and Government officials, politicians and the next-of-kin of the victims.
After all the white hearses began their journey out of the airport complex, a minute of silence was observed at 10.55am.
