The 45-year-old Australian man allegedly hanged himself to dead in his bedroom at an apartment in Mont Kiara. His maid discovered his body around 6.45pm on Monday, said Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Azlee Abdullah.
Police said the man, a managing director of a food production company, was found with a cable tied around his neck when police arrived at about 8pm.
“We believe it is suicide as the man left a note to his wife who is in the Netherlands with their child,” ACP Muhammad Azlee said.
“The note is of a personal nature, and we cannot disclose its contents,” he said, adding that the case had been classified as sudden death.
The Australian High Commission has been notified while the body was sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre for post-mortem.
