Oh I remember my mom saying that to me all the time when I was younger and refused to eat my greens. It is a whole different story nowadays though. I love meat, from chicken to pork to beef but every once in a while, I do opt for the non-meat options as a way to detox.
Healthy living has grown over the recent years here in Malaysia and there are some pretty amazing vegetarian restaurants here in the Klang Valley. Here is a list of vegetarian restaurants that you should give a try:
Founded in 1981, Saravanaa Bhavan is the largest vegetarian restaurant chain in the world.Offering south Indian cuisine with no eggs used in the cooking, Saravanaa Bhavan is available in Bangsar, Ampang, Brickfields, Masjid India and Petaling Jaya. Personal favourites include Rava Masala Dosa and the Banana Leaf Meals.
2. Botanical
Brought to Malaysians by The Big Group, Botanical is a meat-free dining restaurant for all those who on a prowl for healthy eating. Offering a new take on garden fresh produce with a menu that sparks culinary creativity, Botanical is located at Bangsar Village 2 and is open daily from 11.00am to 10.00pm.
3. Secret Recipe Beyond Veggie
Secret Recipe Beyond Veggie is Secret Recipe Cakes & Café Group’s new vegetarian venture that presents an extensive menu range inspired by fresh and natural products. Chin Swee Vegetarian Restaurant serves some of the finest vegetarian Chinese cuisines there is out there. Located at Genting and at SS2, Petaling Jaya, personal favourites at Chin Swee include the Black Mushroom with Broccoli and Lon Han Chai in Yam Ring.

Located in Ampang, The Origin offers a variety of fusion vegetarian dishes. Using fresh and organic vegetables, The Origin is open every Tuesdays to Saturday from 11.00am to 3.00pm and 6.00pm to 10.00pm.
Real and Wholesome (R.A.W.) presents a brand new dining concept in Malaysia. Completely vegetarian, R.A.W. offers affordable healthy food including sandwiches, cakes, pasta, salads and amazing coffee too! Located in Ampang, R.A.W. is open everyday except Sundays.
