Now, who doesn’t love McDonald’s?! But would you have your wedding reception there?
Meet the couple who celebrated their wedding reception at their favourite local branch of fast food giant, the Golden Arches of McDonald’s. The happy newly-weds, Steven and Emily Asher of Bristol paid £150 for their fast food feast, catering for 33 guests in a roped-off area at the Cribbs Causeway restaurant.
Describing it as “the happiest day of our lives”, the manager present a bottle of celebratory champers to the happy couple, but had to hold off on the bubbles because of McDonald’s ban on booze.
Chilled food firm worker Steven proposed after a string of burger-based dates.
“When I saw Emily in her dress for the first time I couldn’t believe my eyes, she looked absolutely beautiful,” said the proud groom.
“We were both shaking throughout the ceremony, we were so nervous.
“But it was a great day and everyone seemed to find our reception at McDonalds really interesting.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves – everyone loves McDonalds, don’t they?”
Emily added: “It was an amazing day. I did get quite a few people staring at me in McDonald’s but I didn’t care – it was my big day and I was there to enjoy myself.”
