Picture this, dining in an environment where old-Havana charm and rustic feel presents a unique and romantic setting for a perfect night out. Just the walk in felt like I was transported into a whole new era and the focal point of Qba Latin Bar & Grill is inarguably the resident angel – representing a motif commonly found in Catholic churches in Cuba. An open kitchen greets patrons at the top of the staircase, with a corridor at the side that leads into the wine bar and cigar lounge area.
The ambience is emphasised by low key lighting. Diffused by the use of “cube-like” marble light boxes and some other light boxes in smaller versions, the surrounding area is ignited with strings of cubic crystals cascading down the walls and ceiling of Qba. It is Qba’s architectural version of a contemporary chandelier in an old Havana setting.
Regulars are spoilt for choice as they know Qba to be the place for the bar’s extensive selection of boutique wines – Spanish or South American- and other wines from around the world, many of which are featured by the glass at the Qba Wine Bar.
Start off the night with the outlet’s signature drinks of Mojitos or Caipirinhas at Qba’s Latin Courtyard- the alfresco dining area of the restaurant. It is an ideal place for some remarkable cocktail concoctions, using the rare and exquisite selection of great Rums- reputed to be one of the biggest collections of Rums in Kuala Lumpur.
Qba Classic Mojito
First up! Qba’s signature cocktail, the Qba Classic Mojito – a concoction of light rum,, fresh mint, sugar, lemon juice topped up with soda water. This is such an awesome thirst quencher and refreshing at the same time. Great for hot sunny days!
Caipirinha
Another Qbar’s signature cocktail, the Qba Caipirinha – cachaca, sugar and fresh lime. The taste is similar to the Qba Classic Mojito but hold on, the alcohol buzz from this will get you buzzing the entire night!
Sangria
We ended our cocktail adventure with another house special, the Sangria. Easy on the palate, smooth and refreshing! Definitely a drink that you can drink all night with your girlfriends.
Qba Latin Grill is essentially a steak restaurant with Latin American flavours. Its cuisine simply reflects what the Latin Americas are all about– a combination of bright ingredients and vivid seasoning.
