Take a number, Drake, take a number!
The rapper who started from the bottom, released his latest single, “Draft Day”, and gave a shout-out to Oscar winner, Jennifer Lawrence, who has stolen the hearts of pretty much everyone.
“On some Hunger Games s–t, I would die for my district/Jennifer Lawrence you could really get it/ I mean, for real girl, you know I had to do it for ya,” he says in the song.
J.Law isn’t the only famous face the Toronto rapper calls out to during the track.
“Draft Day”, which samples Lauryn Hill’s 1998 hit “Doo Wop (That Thing),” is filled with disses at other artists like Jay Z and Chance the Rapper.
Earlier this year, Drake dissed Bey’s hubby in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying, “It’s like Hov can’t drop a bar these days without at least four art references. I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
A month later, Jay fired back on his single “We Made It” where he rapped, “Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk/Silly me rapping about s**t that I really bought.”
But Drake didn’t let Jay have the final word…
“I heard they talking crazy, I was out of town/ You know they love to pop all that s–t when I’m not around/ But when I’m here, psst, not a sound/ That’ll make me snap, jot it down, get in the booth and lay a body down,” he says in “Draft Day.”
The ball’s in your court, Jay!
