6 Ways to Be More Productive At Work

We often procrastinate at work, in life. And it’s not something you’d have to be embarrassed about – we all do it, and we have our moments where just can’t get stuff done. Being sufferers of low productivity (not denying it), we’ve tried and tested these tricks to help boost our personal productivity in the workplace.

1. Eliminate Distractions
Put a sign, or request that people give you another 30 minutes before they request for something unless if it’s urgent. This also applies to the distractions on your computer too. If you have any pop-ups from chats or new emails, updates, etc. And if you have to, turn off the internet. The best would be to go somewhere quiet to complete that task.

2. Avoid Multi-tasking
Not everyone’s a professional mulit-tasker, and multi-tasking can totally ruin your productivity too! Switching things around doesn’t help, so focus on giving your 100% on one task, and when you’re done, take a breather and move on to the next.

3. Set Specific Targets
Sometimes, being specific helps you get very far. List down the specifics of your weekly or daily tasks so you can achieve them one-by-one. It may be a long list, but it’l definitely help you get organized better.

4. Filter Your Inbox
Time is money in the workplace. And although technology is possibly one of your best friends in the world, it’s good to filter your inbox every week. And when it comes to answering emails that can take less than a minute, answer them immediately. It’ll save more time, and you’ll get more stuff done at the same time.

5. Swear Off Social Media
It’s hard, we know. But you’re not supposed to look at Facebook and other social media platforms while you’re at work. Just distract yourself with other things with tasks that should be completed at work.

6. Create A System
A lot of people have different work strategies. Work together with your strengths and come up with a new plan in the office to help give you more clarity, focus and control. If this even means organizing your desk a whole new way, it’ll be the best. A plan that is made of up sheer simplicity, organization and consistency will help you work efficiently and even give your mind the chance to relax.
