1. You’ve dated around
We’re not saying you have to date 30 guys before you get married – no. Be sure to have had your fair share of dating experiences. It’s always good to know a little more than you should. Dating other guys through time will teach you good lessons that will be helpful to you when you do find the ‘one’.
2. You share similar goals
Being in love is something different. But at the the beginning of the relationship, we tend to ignore the things that get us. The most important aspect about being in a relationship (apart from love) is to know that you both share similar goals. We’re not saying you should have the exact same goals. But be sure that you both have the same aim for the future, whether it’s for work or on a more personal level. It’s really important to be hand in hand with this.
3. You don’t want him to change
In the beginning of the relationship, everything is perfect. Right? But as time goes along, you start to notice habits that you don’t like, and what not. Well, if you’re okay with the guy you’re with… and you want to change NOTHING about him after being with him for over a year, then it looks like your good to go. A guy will never fully change his character because that is just how he is. You must always remember this.
4. You’re not living on a bridal fantasy
Are you on cloud-nine when it comes to weddings? Then snap out of it if you want to get married! You can’t be dreaming about a fantasy wedding if you’re looking to create a life with someone. Sure, the wedding is a plus point, but the important part is what happens after the wedding and the years to come. Don’t waste all your energy on wedding fantasies, and be calm and collected about it. (Ofcourse, when the day comes, you can go as crazy as you want)
5. Resolving fights go both ways
Fights are inevitable, but it’s how you deal with them as a couple that’ll determine how your relationship will be. If you’re fighting and taking the blame, then you’ve got some serious thinking to do. Vice versa. But, if you are your boyfriend and able to resolve fights together, then you’ve got yourself a keeper. There’s no point playing the blame game in a fight, because one way or anything, you need to resolve it.
6. Your friends and family approve him
Of course, marrying someone would mean marrying their family and friends as well. If you get along with all of them, then you’re good to good. It’s always best to make sure your relationship with his friends and his family is good. You don’t want to have too much hostility, do you?
If you’re good in all these points… then you may in fact be ready to get married!
