Fresh sashimi, mind-altering wasabi, mouth watering crispy tempura — Japanese cuisine is definitely one of our favourites!
Food haven, Kuala Lumpur has a variety of Japanese restaurants to cater to everyone’s tastebuds, budget and convenience. So, if you love your sushi, here is a list of Japanese buffet venues that you should pay a visit to.
Opened since 1988, Genji @ PJ Hilton offers consistent quality and seasonal cravings for foodies! Segregated into several distinct areas, there is the tea lounge, sushi bar, main restaurant, two spacious teppanyaki counters and six private tatami dining rooms that customers can opt for. Extremely popular for its weekend buffets, dinner on Saturday is available from 6.30pm till 10.30pm, priced at RM109 per adult and Sunday buffet lunch is available from 11.30am till 2.30pm at RM99 per adult. My favourite dishes at Genji include the beef teppanyaki, salmon sashimi and fresh oyster.
Fresh, succulent Japanese food in a pleasant ambience, Hanare @ The Intermark gets its fresh seafood from the Tsukiji market in Tokyo. Staying true to only serving freshly shucked oysters and never frozen ones, Hanare is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants to visit for buffets. The buffet available on weekends offers all you can eat Australian wagyu beef, prawns, scallops and salmon for RM148++ per pax from 12.00pm to 2.30pm.
Kampachi first opened at Equatorial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and has added other stand alone restaurants to its list including The Troika, Pavilion, Plaza33 and Johor Premium Outlets. The buffet, a favourite of many, is available to Japanese food lovers every Sunday and on public holidays from 12.00pm to 2.30pm. Priced at RM150++ per pax, Kampachi serves some of the freshest sashimi and finest premium cut beef, succulent lobsters and king crabs.
Offering an authentic spread of scrumptious buffet on weekends, Xenri has over a hundred dishes to satisfy anyone and everyone. Combining passion, innovative flair and award winning culinary skills, the buffet offers dishes from the cold counters of sushi, oysters and soba to the sizzling hot delectables such as crispy tempura, grilled seafood and nabe soup for a true Japanese fare. Available on Sundays, the buffet is priced at RM55.00++.
