25-year-old Gaynor Rzepka had no clue she was pregnant – until she gave birth on the loo.
She was at her parents’ house in Glamorgan when she woke up with sharp pains in the early hours of February 16th.
Thinking that she needed the toilet, Gaynor went to the bathroom and gave birth instead.
She said: “I just pushed and he arrived. I caught him before he went into the toilet. I was really shocked.”
Daily Mail reports that little Olly-James, who weighed 2.9kg, was perfectly healthy.
She added: “My first words were just repeating: ‘Oh my God.’ I didn’t know what else to say. I burst into tears and sat on the floor. My mum said: ‘It’s a baby’ and my dad was saying, ‘Don’t worry, keep calm’.”
Gaynor insists she had no idea about being pregnant, claiming she continued to have periods as usual and experienced a little weight gain throughout.
She continued her job at a supermarket in Cowbridge, completing a ten-hour shift the day before she gave birth, and even ran the Cardiff Half Marathon five months into her pregnancy.
Gaynor said: “I didn’t have any signs, no morning sickness, no pain, no heartburn, nothing at all. I had periods all the way through. I didn’t really put on very much weight until Christmas, and I just thought that was a Christmas belly.”
She added, with hindsight, that the only hint to her pregnancy was a craving for Mars bars, which she usually hates.
Now how’s that for weird news!
