Uh-oh! Looks like nipples are offensive at 20,000 feet above ground!
The only way babies can have milk on a Delta flight is through a bottle. At least, that’s what a representative from the airline told new mom Lindsay Jaynes when she tweeted a question about their breastfeeding policy. Here’s what went down:
@DeltaAssist What’s your breast feeding policy? I’ll be flying with my 10wk old son and he won’t nurse with a cover or take a bottle. Thanks

@DeltaAssist My flight is six hours and he needs to eat every two hours. What do you suggest?
— Lindsay Jaynes (@ClassicHippie) February 21, 2014
@DeltaAssist I’ve tried since he was born to get him to eat from a bottle and he absolutely won’t, so that’s not an option.

@DeltaAssist So even though I am legally allowed to breastfeed without a cover, you’re saying I can’t? Is there a Delta written policy?

Delta Airlines later apologised to Lindsay by tweeting, “Delta welcomes breastfeeding mothers and babies on our flights. We apologise for the misinformation earlier.”
Unfortunately for Delta, the apology came too little too late as moms had already started tweeting about their frustration with the airlines and their support for Lindsay.
