Previously, we’ve taught you how to make your own exfoliating lip scrub to have healthy, sexy and kissable lips. Now, we’ll teach you how you can pamper your entire body the same way with this DIY coffee salt scrub that is used at many luxury spas and sworn by many beauty gurus such as Michelle Phan.
This scrub is filled with natural ingredients that are highly beneficial to the skin. For instance, coffee is full with anti-oxidants that naturally detoxify the skin and is a natural exfolient that helps to smooth skin by reducing cellulite. Besides being another exfolient, the salt will help to increase blood circulation, restore the nutrients on the skin as well as provide the skin with anti-septic and anti-bacterial properties which can help to reduce scarring. Finally, the olive oil used in the scrub will moisturise and rehydrate the skin, leaving it soft and smooth.
You’ll need: Extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, table salt, coffee grounds, glass jar
Mix all these ingredients together in a small bowl till you have your desired texture. If the scrub is too dry, add a little more olive oil so that the scrub will hold its shape.
When you’re done mixing, it should look like this. We have chosen to use a mix of both sea salt and regular table salt because the texture of the sea salt may be too gritty and rough for the skin.
Store the scrub in a glass jar and put it in the shower so that you can easily reach for it. We love using this scrub because it leaves our skin feeling silky smooth, soft, radiant and glowing. You can add a few drops of essential oils if you prefer but we think that the robust smell of the coffee alone is satisfying enough.
