After 3 weeks in the search of the rogue Ambank security guard, police have officially caught the suspect in Johor Bahru on Sunday morning.
The security guard was responsible for robbing the Ambank at Jalan USJ Sentral 2. In his pursuit, he also shot operations manager Norazita Abu Talid with a pump gun. He escaped with RM450,000 on a motorbike.
Weeks after the incident, netizens believe they have identified the Facebook profile of the security guard. Based on the profile, netizens gathered that the man could be Indonesian since his profile updates and comments were written in an Indonesian dialect. Police believed that the suspect carried a fake Malaysian IC.
Inspector- General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said a team from Ops Cantas Bukit Aman caught the man in Johor Baru Sunday morning. He was immediately brought to the Selangor police headquarters in Shah Alam to be remanded for investigations. He was escorted by a team of heavily-armed policemen.
