Traveling with your girlfriends can be one of the best experiences you will ever have, but it can also be quite challenging since you’ll be working with different budgets, schedules and preferences. If you’re the designated planner, figuring out a vacation might be overwhelming and may even cause a little conflict within the group if you’re not careful.
Here are some helpful tips to help you plan a successful trip with your girlfriends:
1. Discuss your plans early
It’s a good idea to start planning early so you can take advantage of cheaper flight tickets and time to iron out the details. Get your friends together in a relaxed environment and start discussing your plans instead of doing it by text or email. It’s much easier for everyone to convey their concerns about the trip.
2. Plan your budget
Planning your budget is as equally important as sussing out the details of your trip. And since everyone’s got a different budget, it’s best to be honest about what you can afford to spend on the trip. This way, you can all come into agreement about choosing the destination, accommodation and activities while on vacation. Do look up an all-inclusive vacation plan that includes accommodation and transportation if it’s difficult to come to an agreement with the group.
3. Set all conflicts aside
When you’re on vacation, the last thing anyone wants is for the group to split up because of a misunderstanding. Let the girls know that it’s important for them to set their differences aside and to enjoy the vacation. After all, you’re spending a good deal of money to enjoy each other’s company and to relax.
4. Be open to different activities
Not everybody wants to do the same thing on vacation. Some might want to dwell in the quiet parts to rejuvenate while might want to go on a shopping spree. Be open to the idea that people might separate during the vacation to do their own thing, but you can always reunite at night for supper.
5. Go with the flow
Instead of planning every hour of your schedule with an activity, take a step back and let everyone decide for themselves. If you want to do something as a group, plan it ahead before the trip itself so that everyone can come to an agreement. Don’t be annoyed if some of your friends would much prefer to stay in bed than go out. After all, it’s a vacation!
6. Pack as a group
If you’re traveling in a group and intend to save space for shopping, a good tip is to pack as a team! It’s an especially great way to avoid spending any money before traveling. Essentials are perfect in this case – assign a person to bring shampoo and conditioner, another for toothpaste, etc.
