A KTM komuter derailed off the tracks while on its way to the Rawang KTM Station today. According to The Star, the train derailed at approximately 10.15am near the Rawang KTM station.
The incident was confirmed by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) president Datuk Elias Kadir. According to KTM’s Twitter account, train services to Rawang will be experiencing technical difficulties.

Sources have reported that no passenger was hurt when the train derailed off the tracks.
Senior Manager of KTMB Shahril Sahak said that passengers are being transferred from the Serendah station to Rawang and Rawang to Serendah by shuttle bus. 15 buses were prepared to transport the passengers.
Services affected are the commuter train on the Rawang – Tanjung Malim route and also the ETS train between Ipoh and KL.
It is unsure how long it would take for the commuter train to resume its services. What caused the derailment has yet to be confirmed.
The incident will also be an inconvenience of travelers as Malaysians are expected to take a long weekend for the Deepavali festival tomorrow and Awal Muharram next Tuesday.
