KL Lookbook: Faten Elya Qartika Rostov

Look 1: Scallop cropped tee (Thrift Store), Poopy pants (Boyfriend’s)

Name: Faten Elya Qartika Rostov

Age: 23

Occupation: Pilot

Describe your personal style: I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is that I like. It changes from time to time. I could be a gamine one day and a glamorous gipsy the next. I’m mostly drawn to flowy floral maxi dresses but I also absolutely love tailored and masculine clothing with bright bold colours. On lazy days I’ll be wearing those tie dye loose pants or harem pants with a cotton tee but when I’m really up for it, I go big with excessive (blinding, actually) colour blocking or subtler with an OTT piece like my favourite chunky monkey gold necklace or my silver brogues.

What do you think about the fashion scene in KL: It’s definitely picking up speed. I see fashionistas popping up like mushrooms. It’s safe to say that I’m jealous of the wardrobes of half the girls in KL (including toddlers). Also, I’m actually very impressed with the men in Malaysia. You see more well-dressed males these days. They’re showing interest and women appreciate that.

Your favourite place to shop: Topshop and nasty gal.
