Have you been called-out for spending way too much time on Pinterest, planning that gorgeous wedding you can’t even afford? And even if you could, wouldn’t it to be over-the-top to adorn every wedding guests’ seat with a mason jar full of chic, DIY party favors?
While you spend hours on Pinterest filling up your wedding board, Ryan Leak used his wife, Amanda Roman’s Pinterest board to plan the ultimate dream wedding!
When he heard that Amanda’s dream was to get engaged and married on the same day, he studied her “My dream wedding” pinboard and committed to a whole year of planning the wedding.
“She planned the entire wedding without even knowing that she planned the entire wedding,” he said.
From outfits, color themes, to table centerpieces and the cake, Ryan was able to fulfill all of Amanda’s wishes. He even flown her make-up artist and hair stylist all the way to Miami for the ceremony! While their friends and family flew to their wedding destination, Ryan had whisked Amanda to Miami on “holiday”. The couple got engaged, and then married several hours later.
“Planning a whole wedding is unbelievably daunting so Pinterest was amazing as it enabled me to pick exactly what Amanda would have liked,” said Ryan.
And because it’s the most romantic thing to ever be done in this age of social media and technology, Ryan documented the entire process in a video called “The Surprise Wedding”.
Lesson learned – make your wedding blueprint visible to the world and publicize your Pinterest wedding board as much as you can.
