Scientists Find New Birth Control Method for Men That Lasts 10 Years

It’s a good time for ladies to rejoice and finally take a break from the effects of birth control pills because there’s a new birth control method for men with a 100% success rate!

This new procedure works by injecting a polymer gel called Vasalgel into the penis, which then kills the sperm. Also known as Reversible Inhibition of Sperm Under Guidance (RISUG), the gel coats the inside walks of the vas deferens and breaks down the sperm that passes through.

However, he downside of this method requires a little bit of a “prick”. Here’s what Nerve had to say:

“The downside: by injected, I mean injected, as in you have to get a needle straight into your jimmy for this to work. Is a small bit of dick-centric pain worth a decade of worry-free sex? (Assuming you haven’t forgotten about the existence of STDs.) That depends on your tolerance for dick pain and your love of barebacking.”

While the procedure may require a tiny bit of pain, let’s focus on the purpose of it – 100% effectiveness. The procedure only lasts about fifteen minutes and is effective for up to 10 years. it’s also much easier to reverse than a vasectomy, and we know vasectomies can get messy! Vaselgel injections are slated to hit the markets by 2015.

But just a word of warning, don’t forget that condoms do not only help prevent unwanted pregnancies, they also eliminate the chances of developing unwanted STDs.
