Shahrinawati Abu Bakar’s death was an unfortunate one. The airline executive was being robbed by two men in Ampang, when a passing motorist who aimed to help her, ended up killing the 30-year-old.
Shahrinawati died of chest injuries consistent with the accident.
According to Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Amirruddin Jamaluddin, Shahrinawati was on her way home when two robbers on a motorcycle confronted her and attempted to snatch the handbag she was carrying.
Then, two men in a passing car saw Shahrinawati in trouble and came to her aid. However, when the driver sped towards the scene he accelerated his car in hopes to ram into the robbers. Unfortunately, they ended up crashing into Shahrinawati as well.
The two robbers escaped on a black Yamaha LC motorcycle but it was learnt that one of them dropped his wallet.
