It’s hard not to see all the horrors in humanity – a nuclear war might happen soon, people are being shot in broad daylight. There’s hardly a safe zone for any of us and it’s getting bad. It’s important for us to show the world that humanity is not evaporating out of our bodies, which is why it’s important for us to start practicing simple methods of becoming a better person.
1. Stop Making Excuses
It all starts with one complaint and before you know it, everything you’ve worked hard for can go down the drain. Making excuses stops you from achieving your goals. If you want to do something, do it, and don’t settle for anything second best.
2. Find Ways to Be Helpful
You’ll never know just how much people will value you when you lend a helping hand. Whenever your friend is down in the dumps or is just having a really bad day, make the effort and bring some sunshine into their lives. You’ll probably know how it feels to be isolated, so let them know you’ll always be there for them.
3. Don’t Hold Grudges
Buddha once said “Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die”. Holding on to grudges is one of the heaviest things you can ever carry. Although it may be hard to let go of something that really affected your life in a bad way, it’s good to think of it as a blessing. Where you are now is what all the obstacles in life prepared you for.
4. Be Attentive
Do you often feel like no one’s listening to you? Or do you constantly feel ignored by everyone around you. Sometimes the only way to gain some of that attention is to actually show your attention. When someone’s in need of an extra, having to hear them out and then helping them through not only shows your attentive side, but you’re already seen as a helpful friend. Even if you can’t find a way to help your friend out, it’s still worthwhile to hear what they have to say.
5. Treat Everyone Around You Well
Remember when everyone tells you about karma biting back? Well, it’s true. Not in a spiritual way, but the law of science states that everything must come down. So whether you’re making big coins or you’re just naturally lucky to be blessed with the treasures of the world, remember that everyone is equal. Understanding equality is really the only answer to world peace if you think about it, but in this case, you can already guarantee a peaceful surrounding by treating everyone around you with respect.
