Describe your personal style: This is funny because I only started liking fashion. I never used to dress-up. I was always in hoodies and I would never be caught in a dress but I loved my jeans. However, as you grow older you learn more about yourself; you grow into yourself as well, and you tend to see what looks good on you. This is why I do not have many tops or pants in my closet that I would wear out now. If you see me in some cute outfit on it would probably be an ensemble put together by me after rummaging my sisters’ closets. I am forever growing which means I’m forever developing my own fashion taste. Next, I’m a little rough around the edges so you may find me rocking a New Era cap or anything that exudes masculinity. On the other hand, I’d spend days in long skirts and dresses.
Most importantly, I think simplicity works best so I never over do it. I get attracted to bright pretty colours but I also appreciate neutral-coloured tops (This is when I want to look classy. I also appreciate timeless fashion, often incorporating a staple piece of jewelry. I’ll admit, I like being subtly sexy so whatever I wear exudes that- or at least it has to. Lastly, some of my friends think I dress “safe” but I consider it signature. But despite it all, I still wear my jeans!
What do you think about the fashion scene in KL: I sincerely feel it lacks originality, excluding some girls in the fashion scene who know how to showcase their individuality. People need to be more educated about fashion. When they’re not educated about fashion, then they wouldn’t have a clue about what it is. By “educate” I don’t mean taking it as a course at university, one should study fashion from around the world, especially the different types of fashion. The internet is a great place to start. By doing so people in KL might be more open-minded about fashion and they might learn a bit about their own fashion style too.
