In conjunction with the opening of theSkintopic’s fourth kiosk at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara, theSkintopic has introduced the latest botanical skincare brand Evolu to their extensive range of New Zealand skincare and body care products.

“We are delighted to have Evolu on board as its brand philosophy is a perfect fit to the existing range of natural skincare and body care products at theSkintopic. We are constantly on the lookout for new and natural beauty brands to introduce to the Malaysian market. Based on the growing demands of our existing customer base, we are confident that Evolu will fit the needs of discerning women who prefer natural products on the skin,” said Federick Loh, Executive Director of theSkintopic.

Evolu was developed based on its founder’s belief in the power of plants to promote lasting beauty. The range is simple yet potent, custom-designed to nourish and restore balance to your skin’s natural mechanism.

Evolu takes prides in their ethical approach and offer products that are pH balanced, and free from parabens, petrochemicals, minerals, phthalates, sulphates, artificial colours and fragrances.

Kati Kasza, Founder & Managing Director, Evolu

We had the chance to chat up with the Founder and Managing Director of Evolu, Kati Kasza who came all the way from New Zealand.

What inspired the start of Evolu?

I believe that healthy skin depends on its natural processes being in balance. As an avid traveller, I’ve noticed that our skin has a remarkable capacity to remember environments, from air-conditioned interiors to timezone changes, and nights of abbreviated sleep. I’ve been using other products that promised to suppress the visible effects of stress, but it seems unchanged. So I determined to look for a solution and drew from my family background.

What gave you the confidence to develop Evolu?

First of all, it’s all about passion and my family background. I was raised by a mother who was a trained botanist and herbalist, a father who was one of  New Zealand’s winemaking pioneers; so, it was only natural for me to develop a keen fascination and understanding of the unique environment in New Zealand, and harnessing the natural ingredients to create my own line of botanical skincare.

Have you had any funny scenarios with customers?

Yes. I remembered there was once when I received a call from an Aussie customer. She called and ask if  there was any product called “Ulove” and I told her that she’d probably called the wrong number. Until then I’ve find out that the “Ulove” that she meant is the reverse spelling of my brand “Evolu”. It thrilled me! I never realized that it can be spelled in that way. “Evolu” = “U Love”.

Have you experienced any challenges while developing Evolu?

Of course I’ve encountered several hard times in the beginning. But I have a strong belief and a strong passion to continue with the business. Now, you can easily find them at convenient stores and online shopping sites. We’re even supplying Evolu skincare and body care at luxury 5-Star hotels in New Zealand.

What are your best selling products?

Most of our loyal customers love our Protective Day Cream SPF 15 because their textures are very light and hydrating.  The Renewal Facial Exfoliator made with Jojoba and lavender soothes and removes dead skins cells gently; and also our award-winning Face Serum and Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. Evolu skincare and body care products are suitable for men too. We have male customers who love Evolu as well.

Evolu offers a full range of skincare and body care products with retail price ranging from RM68 to RM278, available at all theSkintopic kiosks.
