A new batch of minion toys have been launched today at participating McDonald’s outlets, and we know that adults as well as children will be lining up to get their hands on the cute, yellow figures from the movie Despicable Me 2. All of us can recall the madness surrounding the previous Happy Meal ‘Despicable Me 2’ promotions: it didn’t only stay within the grounds of McDonald’s restaurants, but also went viral on social media platforms when angry minion fans lashed out on Facebook for not getting a toy. Those who did get one (or a few), shared their joy on Instagram and Twitter, and someone even went as far as selling it on eBay.
While we all have different opinions on the minion craze (we think it’s cute, but for some it’s totally serious business), let’s all agree on one thing about this particular Happy Meal promotion: don’t waste the food that comes with your beloved minion. A group of people are dedicating their time and energy today to collect unwanted Happy Meals from minion toy collectors and will be donating them to the underprivileged. Collection points for ‘The Happiest Meal’ drive are McDonald’s outlets at Plaza Mont Kiara and Pusat Bandar Damansara during the times stated in the poster below. If you’re in the vicinity of Mont Kiara and you have 10 meals or more, the group will also try to pick up the meals from you.
Do spread this news to all your friends – it’s a good idea and will bring smiles to both minion fans and to those in need!
