It’s common for hair to shed every once in a while, there are lot of habits that do cause falling hair. Unfortunately there is no one way to stop hair loss from happening but there are ways to combat and lessen it!
Here are a few things you can do to avoid losing your luscious locks.
Use a wide tooth comb instead of a normal brush as this will tug at your hair a lot less, avoiding unnecessary breakage and tugging hairs out.
Ditch the heat. If you’re serious about preventing hair fall, do not use heat tools on your hair or try to use them not too often. Heat weakens the proteins in your hair and will eventually lead to fragility which will cause hair loss. If, however, you need to use heat on your hair be sure to use a protectant, they are easy enough to find. You should also apply heat protectants to your hair when you know you are going to be out in the sun for a prolonged amount of time. When using heat tools on your hair try not to go so close to the root as this could damage your hair follicles forever!
Get a shampoo that is specifically for hair loss and be gentle when you are washing it. Don’t tug at your hair. Instead gently lather the product in, focusing on the roots of your hair. After washing and conditioning your hair DO NOT brush it. Wet hair is a lot more sensitive and you could break hair that is still growing. If you have to, use your fingers or the wide tooth comb to get rid of tangles.
Stress, as we all know, damages the whole body including your hair. Hair fall and stress go hand and hand with one another. So if you notice an increase in your hair loss try to figure out what could be stressing you out and find a way to relax yourself.
Naturally eating healthily will mean a better body all round and someone with a good balanced diet is bound to have a better head of hair than that of an unhealthy person as they will be richer in nutrients. Protein plays a big role of importance in keeping your hair healthy. A good amount of protein in your diet will help to provide your hair with the amino acids that strengthen it. a deficiency however can result in hair loss once again. Some good protein rich foods include seafood, dairy, meat, wholemeal bread, nuts, peanut butter and the list goes on. Omega-3 fatty acids prevent hair from becoming brittle, which leads or breakage. Some examples of some omega-3 rich foods are mackerel, tuna, walnuts and flaxseeds.
These are all rules of thumb that we should live by in order to have nice hair anyway but if you are suffering from severe hair loss then you should see a specialist and consider treatment. Make sure you have these tips covered though as they should make a difference!
