Fashion designer John Galliano is back and sober. In his recent interview with Vanity Fair he speaks about the anti-Semitic remarks which got him slammed back into 2011, shaming him into rehab. The first interview since his public outburst, Galliano is remorseful and determined to get back to how he once was. Galliano only had himself to blame when he lost his job as head designer at Dior due to a drunken rant at strangers which was filmed. Amongst other things, the designer said “I love Hitler”. After losing it all, he checked into a rehabilitation clinic in Arizona spending the past two years confronting his alcoholism and drug addictions.”It’s the worst thing I have said in my life, but I didn’t mean it…” “I was going to end up in a mental asylum or six feet under” quotes Galliano in the interview. Though many turned on the designer in his time of darkness, he maintained a good support group still. Linda Evangelista visited him in rehab on his first visitors weekend and Kate Moss still wanted her wedding dress designed by him. The models father even toasted Galliano at the wedding, Kate Moss quotes “It was the most moving thing because suddenly John realised he wasn’t on his own.” Glad that he is now healthy and back in the press, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for his comeback!
