An American pastor was found bound and dead at his double-storey house in Taman Ukay. The body of 62-year-old Rev. David James Ginter was found with his hands and legs bound while his neck was wrapped with a mobile phone charger wire.
Sources revealed that Ginter had been living in Malaysia for four years and serves as a pastor in a church in Jalan Ampang.
Jalan Ampang OCPD Asst Comm Amiruddin Jamaluddin said the victim’s wife, an Australian woman had last contact her husband at about 10pm on Friday. His wife is away in Australia.
“We are still investigating the motive. There is no sign of force entry but we are not ruling out the possibility of robbery as one of the motives,” said Amiruddin. He said the body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem.
“She had asked her neighbor to check on her husband after she failed to contact him,” he said, adding that, the neighbor had a spare key.
U.S. Embassy official, Harvey Sernovitz said the embassy will be providing consular assistance to the family.
