Speculations surrounded with the traditional Chinese medicine, the acupuncture due to its effectiveness which scientists cannot explain. However, a new study has proven that acupuncture is one of the best stress relievers for all!
According to our source, a new study shows that acupuncture does help relieve stress and anxiety. The 10-day experiment involves researchers applied a series of tests with electronic acupuncture on rats that received the exact same dose of pressure. The results published in the Journal of Endocrinolog shows that the stress hormones were lower in rats that had received electronic acupuncture.
“Many practitioners of acupuncture have observed that this ancient practice can reduce stress in their patients, but there is a lack of biological proof of how or why this happens. We’re starting to understand what’s going on at the molecular level that helps explain acupuncture’s benefit,” study researcher Dr. Ladan Eshkevari, an associate professor of nursing at Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies, said in a statement.
The rats were separated into 4 different groups with different treatment. The body secretes an assortment of hormones into the bloodstream which the stress were then measured in the rats. The hypothalamus pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis in the bloodsteam as well peptide involved in creatures’ “fight or flight” responses.
Eshkevari said in the statement that chronic acupuncture blocks the chronic, stress-induced elevations of the HPA axis hormones and the sympathetic NPY pathway.
