Loan sharks always have their way in threatening the people who borrowed money from them and a women and her 4 children have been living in fear of being burnt alive since they’ve become the target of loan sharks.
According to our source, the loan sharks attempted to burn down the house after they discovered where Tan Ah Ba and her children lives. The 10 people in the house managed to escape unhurt but the house was partially destroyed.
The loan sharks have been tormenting them after Tan’s husband went missing after borrowing a large amount of money. The family survived from the minimal fire in their own house as well last year which prompted them to move in to Ah Ba sister’s house nearby.
Ah Ba’s sister Lee Wei, who also runs a stall in the market, was getting ready for the day when she heard an explosion at about 4am. She said she saw a man running into a car which sped off after he threw a Molotov cocktail into the house. Lee Wei managed to wake everyone up and they escaped the fire through the back door.
Ah Ba appealed to the loan sharks to leave them alone as they approached MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong. Chong said the case proved to be an alarming trend of loan sharks resorting to violence to scare their victims.
