If you find it hard trying to keep up with the trends of the season, there’s no need to buy everything off the rack. Chances are, you may already have a couple of these trendy pieces hiding in your wardrobe, so lay them out and see how you can give a few of these trends a try.
1. Stripes
Nautical stripes are just about as chic as stripes get. If you’re tired of your Breton shirt and hoping for something a little vibrant, look for black and white stripes, instead. They’re funkier and they add more volume to your look. Give a striped blazer a try, or revisit Beetlejuice with a pair of black and white striped pants.
2. Denim-on-Denim
The denim-on-denim trend might be a track back from the 90s, but it’s making a comeback with denim giants offering a range of denim jackets and vests. To make it look less corny, mix different washes and weights of denim. For example, pair a light chambray shirt with dark skinny jeans. Avoid wearing cowboy boots and opt for nude hues for ballet flats and heels.
Neon defines the trends of Summer, and you would be crazy to miss out on these fluorescent shades. If you’re daring, pick an outfit with bright bursts of color, or if you like to keep it minimal, opt for a piece with slim neon trimmings.
4. Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are all the rage this season. Jumpsuits are sophisticated and stylish, but you can easily make a mistake with these fashion pieces. To keep it smart and elegant, try out various cuts and fabrics and make sure it flows nicely. And since its the season of colors, choose vibrant colored jumpsuits and give it a little boho edge with a headscarf!
5. Abstract Prints
We’re not sure what ignited the trend of abstract print dresses, but we reckon it’s got to do with designer, Mary Katrantzou’s pieces that combines unique art and fashion. Abstract prints can be loud, so keep it minimum by wearing a simple dress, or a top with these designs. Keep makeup simple, but give your lips a pop of color with a bright lipstick.
6. Sleeveless Band T-shirts
Band t-shirts are making a comeback. Perhaps it stemmed from the rise of hipster fashion and the return of the 90’s grunge look, but we can’t deny how awesome it can look. Our recommended look, tuck it in a pair of high-waisted shorts, and accessories with long necklaces and even a bowler hat.
