Half way through the day, you start to feel this off-smell that surrounds you? Is it you or is it the person beside you? Either way, that wiff is something you can’t ignore. Other causes could be excessive smoking and drinking alcohol
What causes body odour?
B.O. is basically caused by bacteria and their excrement that surrounds the sweaty areas of your body.
There are several different causes for body odour. It could be the food you eat, or the fact that you don’t shower – well, if you are not taking a regular shower, you know that is probably one of the main causes. But other than that, there are many other causes. Sometimes, it’s just the atmosphere you are in that causes you to sweat and gives you this terrible B.O.
If you are someone who barely drinks water, and loves indulging on all things that are junk-food worthy, then you can count that as a cause. Eating wrong will clog up your system which makes perspiration so much more difficult, and when you sweat, the ‘excess’ from all that junk will get into your skin and it will be giving off that smell.
How can you prevent it? Here are few ways to prevent that B.O. from coming back!
1. Adjust your diet
Diet is key for your entire body to stay healthy and clean. Eat the right nutrients that your body needs and everything else will flush out. You need to make sure you take in a lot of antioxidants and other vitamins so that your cells and bodily fluids don’t turn out to be bad B.O.
2. Do you laundry properly
Sometimes, the B.O. might be from your actual clothes, so make sure that you have washed everything properly. If the clothes have been in the cupboard and not worn for a long time, you might want to give it a rinse.
3. Use antiperspirant/deodorant
If you are someone who sweats a lot, you should still use an antiperspirant deodorant after you take a shower or before you head out. This is beacuse it will cut down on the sweating.
4. Shower/Bathe daily
Being in a humid country like Malaysia, you should always shower as often as possible. Sweating through out the day, and heading to bed with out a shower will only cause more bacteria to grow on you which will cause a stronger and more pundget B.O. scent. That’s what you are trying to avoid.
5. Consult a doctor
If you can’t seem to get rid of your B.O. despite trying all things from home – then it may be time to consult a doctor to find out why exactly this is happening. There could be another medical cause to all of this.
