It’s Monday again! After a nice, long, relaxing weekend, most of us are probably dragging ourselves to the workplace to start the new day with loads of work. We know how it feels like to return to work on Monday because we are either going to be stuck in the horrendous traffic jam, face the boxy office cubicle or simply endure sleep deprivation.

“Can Monday be any more worse,” you think to yourself.  But, let’s face it. You’ve gone through this many times before? There are ways to make your Monday easier each and every week, and we have 10 awesome tricks that help to change your bad mood into a good one!

1. Plan your day ahead

It is definitely way easier to finish up your work with a planned out schedule. With a well planned out schedule, you can be more concentrated on works and feel motivated at doing your work. In fact, you will feel more relaxed without trying to do everything all at once.

2. Jokes

Crack some jokes with your colleagues and you’ll certainly feel better throughout the day. If not, you can always read some jokes online or watch a comedy movie after work.

3. Keep a master list for the week

Create a list of things you are going to do for this week and make it as your guide to get through the week. Clear out the things on the list before the weekends so that you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment. You can make a smaller list as well to do things that needed down within 24 hours.

4.  Early Start

Wake up a little extra early on Monday so that you can get everything well prepared on Monday morning. Sleep earlier the day before as well so that you will not suffer from sleep deprivation.

5. Make your own breakfast

As breakfast is the most important meal of the day, skip the drive-thru breakfast and make your own healthy breakfast instead. Not only it is healthy, it can prevent you from having morning hungry crankiness at work!  5 Hassle-free Breakfast Ideas

6. Morning walk

One of the reasons to get up early in the morning is to make you feel energetic with some light exercises. Take a morning walk and stroll your dog in the park, or better yet, have a 30-minute slow jog in the park nearby. Exercise definitely helps to amp up endorphin level and lift up your mood.

7. Be happy with your work

Always think of the reasons why you chose this job at the first place so that you’ll never give up and be happy about it. But if you’ve been feeling unhappy since the first day of work, it’s probably time for you to think and reflect about your work life and choose a different career path instead. Or better yet, discover something that interests you outside the work life and enjoy both of them at the same time.

8. Put on the happy songs

Make your favourite happy songs as your alarm and you can definitely jump start the day with good mood! A tune can affect your mood so make sure you listen to upbeat songs for the rest of the day.

9. Plan something special for Monday night

End your Monday with something special to make sure your day is easier to have something to look forward to. Meet a friend you haven’t met for a long time, grab some popcorns and watch movie or simply have bonding session with your family and you can see yourself no longer feeling blue on Monday!

10. Stop blaming Monday

That’s right. Stop putting all the faults on Monday because apparently you have to go through the same thing every day and it was not only Monday that makes you feel blue. Monday is simply another day to start the week (technically, it was Sunday) and isn’t it great to have a fresh start instead?
